This Wednesday, September 20, join John O'Dore as he moderates an expert panel discussion for Business Transition Advisors in Bellevue, WA. "Business Buying: The Purchase Is the Beginning Not the End" will feature experts discussing their experience buying businesses, lessons they learned, pitfalls they would avoid and the importance of planning for the day after the sale.
When it comes to acquiring a business, pre-closing due diligence is not enough. Buyers must prepare for the period after the sale closes or they risk losing their investment. Issues not included in due diligence and negotiation can derail a deal. To ensure a smooth — and successful — transition, buyers must prepare not only for the sale, but for the day after. Wednesday's event will focus on three of these potentially derailing issues: cultural change, organizational change and technology compatibility.
The panel will feature Steve Kidd, CEO and founder of Cimtech Inc; Hugh Blane, president of Claris Consulting; and Chris M. Falco, founding partner of Falco Sult.
Business Transition Advisors is a nonprofit trade organization which serves the owners of privately held businesses by fostering a community of interdisciplinary business transition advisors, developing mutually beneficial relationships, and sharing expert knowledge and best practices.
The event runs 7:30 to 9 a.m. at the Bellevue Red Lion Inn at 11211 Main Street, Bellevue, WA 98004. Tickets range from $35 to $45. For more information or to register for the event, visit businesstransitionadvisors.org/events.
